Dear resident,

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for our area through 6:00 pm this evening. Heat index values will reach 100 degrees. It is suggested that you limit outdoor activities and drink plenty of fluids.

Excessive heat brings with it an increased chance for power outages. In the case of a power outage, please report your outage directly to JCP&L at 888-544-4877, on-line at JCP&L Outages or on JCP&Lā€™s FaceBook page.

To help avoid outages, we ask that you conserve energy during peak demand. Please raise the thermostat a degree or two, turn off lights and limit appliance use.

Always assume downed wires are alive and dangerous and call the Marlboro Police at 732-536-0100. As always, dial 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.

We remind you never to leave children or pets in the car, not even for a minute. Look before you lock! Please take a moment to check in on your neighbors, especially those that are older or with disabilities, and know the signs of heat illnesses. Stay safe.
