Dear Resident,
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in our area beginning later tonight at 1am to noon Friday. Accumulations are expected to be between 2 and 4 inches with the highest accumulations on unpaved surfaces. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow can cause travel difficulties, slick roadways and limited visibility. Marlboro Department of Public Works will be treating the roadways during the night, however please use caution, especially during the morning rush hour.
We remind you to review the ‘Surviving the Snow’ brochure in the centerfold of your recycling calendar and available on line HERE. Power outages should be reported directly to JCP&L using one of their many methods available. You may call JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) to report your outage, click here to report your outage online or here for text messaging. Please immediately report downed wires to JCP&L or the Marlboro Division of Police. Never go near a downed power line, even if you think it is no longer carrying electricity.
The Marlboro OEM reminds us that vehicles, garbage cans or basketball hoops may not be in the roadways during snow events. It impedes with snow removal and increases the chance of damage to your property. In addition, the OEM continues to suspend all curbside brush collections until further notice. See the Recycling Calendar for details.
Thank you for your cooperation. Please stay safe.
Mayor Jon Hornik
