ROAD CONSTRUCTION NOTICE – Week of August 6, 2019

**** In response to the recent storm, the Department of Public Works (DPW) has begun EMERGENCY STORM DEBRIS REMOVAL (BRUSH ONLY) pick up by Zone. No debris may be in the road. When your street is collected, DPW will not return. See DPW letter HERE for details.

For more information about Mayor Hornik’s 4-part Road Repair Initiative, roads scheduled to be repaired, and the process and notification of on-going work, please visit www.marlboro-nj.gov  and click the “Road Repair” tab. Updates are made via Social Media, email and on the Township website. Communication options can be found by visiting www.marlboro-nj.gov and clicking the ‘Communications for Residents’ button on the right hand side of the home page.

Please note that all projects are weather permitting. The scheduled time frame for this work is weather-dependent, and every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience to residents during this time. Police Officers will be site to assist motorists and residents. Please call Marlboro Traffic and Safety at 732-536-0304 with further inquiries regarding road work.

ROADS TO REMAIN OPEN – CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY – POLICE PRESENT
The roads will remain open and accessible during construction, although motorists are advised to use caution through the work zone.

Steeplechase Drive – Milling and Paving this week.

WMUA Sewer Project – The nighttime construction has concluded and they have returned to daytime construction. No road closures are expected. If possible, we suggest that you avoid the area. Final paving on Brandon Road will be scheduled at a later date.

ROAD WORK/CLOSURES

Texas Road at Entrance to Costco – The road will be closed most weekdays days between 9am -5pm as underground work is completed. Electronic sign is on premises. Please note that this construction is under Old Bridge jurisdiction.

Texas Road Closed in Matawan - Texas Road will be fully closed in Matawan starting for this week. Officers will be directing at the detour during daytime hours the first few days to help with motorists attempting to navigate the detour at Greenwood Road heading into Matawan. There will be no officers at night. Matawan has posted signs noticing this construction. The detour for through traffic heading towards Matawan will be at Greenwood Road. Note that this road repair is under Matawan’s jurisdiction.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION PREVIEW (MAIN THOROUGHFARES)

 

Amboy Road – Paving from Tennent Road to recently completed roadwork will begin in August.
Wooleytown Road – Milling and paving to begin the week of August 19. Concrete and drainage work were completed in April.
Spring Valley Road – This is a shared services agreement with Old Bridge. Roadwork will begin in September.
Pleasant Valley Road – FEMA Grant awarded August 13, 2019. Work will take approximately 4 months to complete.
Union Hill Road – Nighttime paving scheduled to commence Friday, August 16.
Peasley Drive –HUD grant received in the amount of $120,370 for the resurfacing of Peasley Drive. Project is out to bid with due date of August 13.
