DPW Emergency Storm Debris Removal Message #1
July 31, 2019

Dear Marlboro Resident,

In response to the recent storm, the Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin EMERGENCY STORM DEBRIS REMOVAL (BRUSH ONLY) pick up by Zone as noted below.

This interim collection only applies to storm debris. The normal brush collection will commence in October as previously published. Note that all regulations as detailed in the recycling calendar and HERE must be adhered to:

  • Brush is to be placed curbside (but not in the street) by 7:00 am by the first day of the scheduled pickup week free of leaves or other debris, but not earlier than one week prior.
  • Weather permitting; it generally takes approximately one week to complete each pair of zones.
  • Once the crews have passed your street they will not return and debris must be brought to the recycling center or removed by a private contractor.
  • Debris placed curbside that does not meet regulations will not be collected and must be brought to the recycling center or removed by a private contractor.
All brush is to be cut to a maximum length of six (6) feet and a maximum diameter of four (4) inches and should not exceed fifty (50) pounds in weight. Branches less than one inch in diameter shall be tied in neat bundles no more than four (4) feet in length and two (2) feet across.
Brush commingled with leaves, grass, rocks, stumps, construction debris, fence posts, etc., trash or recyclables will not be collected. Individuals or contractors placing debris for collection in an unauthorized manner shall be required to remove the waste from the public right of way.

STORM DEBRIS COLLECTION
BY ZONE

Zones 3 & 5  August 5

Zones 2 & 4  August 12

Zones 1 & 8  August 19

Zones 6 & 7  August 26

Note that debris may be brought to the Township Recycling Yard throughout the year at the Municipal Complex without a permit and at no charge. The yard is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00am to 1:30pm and Saturdays from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

We remind you that debris in the street exacerbates flooding, is a hazard to pedestrian and cyclists and detracts from the appearance of our streets. Thank you for your cooperation as we work to keep Marlboro streets safe and clean.
