STORM UPDATE #4

Dear Residents,

Last night a large number of homes had power restored and as of this morning, 1500 homes in Marlboro are still without power. JCP&L has brought in additional resource and 900 crews are now working primarily in Monmouth and Ocean County.

Crews are on site on Tennent Road in the area of Wooleytown and Greenwood. This is the largest remaining outage section and when repaired will bring back a high number of homes. A second crew is currently working on Route 520 in the area of Emerald Drive to replace and reattach wires to two downed poles. There is no estimated time for restoration, but they will continue working until power is restored. The next available crew will head to Nolan Road (estimated to be this afternoon).

Again, we remind you that JCP&L workers and Police on site do not have additional restoration information and it is important that they be allowed to do their jobs safely and efficiently. Thank you for your cooperation.

We are pleased to announce that the Marlboro Swim Club will open today to all residents from 11:30am to 6pm. Power was restored to the facility last night and the pools are open and fully staffed. Please note YOU MUST BE A RESIDENT OF MARLBORO AND BRING ID. The facility is located off Gordons Corner road on Masepe Trail at the Marlboro Country Park. Some things to note:

  • The swim club is a BYOC (bring your own chair) facility.
  • The snack bar will be open.
  • There are pools and playgrounds for all ages.

So grab bring a beach chair, some towels, and come on and enjoy the day! Power or not, all residents welcome.

Important Township Updates:

  • Town Hall is open for cooling and charging. There are plenty of seats and outlets.
  • For those on well water, non-potable water is available 24/7 at the Vanderburg complex near the Aquatic Center. Please bring a container. (134 Vanderburg Road)
  • For anyone without power, free water and ice locations have been updated to include Shop Rite on Union Hill Road in Marlboro.

It bears repeating that the Office of Emergency Management reminds residents that debris may not be placed in the roadway or in any Town right-of-way. It causes flooding and is a hazard to pedestrians and motor vehicles.
The Police can be contacted at 732-536-0100. Emergencies dial 911. Please do not contact the Police to ask about power outage restoration times. They do not have access to that information, and it is imperative that their lines stay open for emergencies.
