Winter Storm #5
Update #4
February 20, 2019

Dear Resident,

In preparation for today’s winter storm, Marlboro Public Works continues to apply brine solution to main and major secondary roadways. The National Weather Service is now projecting 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation, which, as I write this letter, has begun and will end this evening. Temperatures are still expected to warm as the day goes on, and the snow forecast to turn to rain and continue into the overnight. Given the timing of the snow fall and anticipated timing of the changeover, we can reasonably predict that road conditions during rush hour will be hazardous. Please limit travel to the extent possible during the afternoon and into the evening hours. Public Works stands ready and will mobilize the necessary resources in response to the storm conditions.

Please note the following:

  1. As per Township Ordinance, Marlboro OEM reminds you to remove all vehicles and obstructions (i.e. basketball hoops) from the street when the road is snow covered.
  2. As per prior notices from Marlboro OEM, no additional brush should be placed curbside at this time.
  3. Marlboro K-8 schools and the FRHSD announced a one-session (half-day), accordingly all recreation after school programs are cancelled.
  4. At this time, all recycling collections will take place as scheduled.

We continue to be in contact with JCP&L and they are prepared to activate their storm response and incident command plan should it be required. In the event outages occur due to severe weather, customers without power are encouraged to report their outage by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877), clicking the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com, or by texting out to 544487.

Customers should immediately report downed wires to 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) or call Marlboro Police at 732-536-0100. JCP&L reminds customers to stay away from downed wires, even if they believe they are no longer carrying electricity.

Marlboro’s Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the storm system and will report back with updates as they become available.
