WINTER STORM #3-2

Dear Resident,

The Marlboro Office of Emergency Management (OEM) continues to track a weather event which is expected to bring rain to our area today, followed by snowfall during the overnight hours. The National Weather Service is currently predicting 1-2 inches of snow accumulation for our area. As previously reported, the precipitation is expected to be followed by a prolonged period of freezing temperatures, which will result in hazardous travel conditions. The Department of Public Works stands ready to mobilize the necessary snow plowing and de-icing resources.

As a reminder, the OEM has declared that effective immediately NO ADDITIONAL BRUSH MAY BE PLACED CURBSIDE until further notice. If you live in a zone currently scheduled for collection and have brush curbside, you may leave it in place. The Department of Public Works (DPW) will continue to collect brush already curbside for as long as possible.

In order to stay informed, visit www.Marlboro-nj.gov and click ‘Communications for Residents’ (top right button) to register for multiple lines of communication. In addition, register your home and cell phones for emergency SWIFT 911 notifications. Most home phones are inoperable if a power outage occurs. The Marlboro Police and OEM deliver urgent updates via SWIFT 911. As per Town Ordinance, we remind you that vehicles may not be parked in the roadways when the road is snow covered.

We will continue to monitor the weather and update as more becomes available. Thank you and stay safe.

Mayor Jon Hornik
