Coronavirus Update # 5

March 11, 2020

Dear Resident,

We recently participated in a call with the Governor’s Office, State and County Departments of Health in which we learned that a facility in Morganville, Golden Age Medical Day Care Center, has voluntarily closed on a temporary basis after having been visited by an individual who is presumed to have the COVID-19 virus. The clients of this facility are being notified this evening.

The measures being taken by the State of New Jersey include a thorough cleaning and survey of the facility which will be done out of abundance of caution to ensure that it is completely safe before reopening. Note that this facility is not open to the general public and can only be accessed by application and acceptance. If you have specific questions regarding this matter, please contact the Monmouth County Health Department which serves as Marlboro’s Health Department at 732 431-7456.

As we let the public health professionals do their jobs, please continue to heed the advice from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and New Jersey Department of Health, taking normal every-day steps to ensure the safety of your family and those around you.

Resident who have serious chronic medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes and lung disease may be at a higher risk, and should take additional steps to avoid crowds, cruises and non-essential air travel, and stay home as much as possible.

I am mindful and acknowledge that the current situation makes many of us anxious, and it is my goal through these communications to help channel these feelings into constructive preparation. I will continue to provide accurate and up to date information for your consumption, and remind you of the every-day and common sense steps we can all take to ensure we stay safe and remain healthy. I am confident that we will face this new challenge with the same resilience and determination that always gets us through difficult situations.

Should you have any general questions regarding the COVID-19 virus, the New Jersey Coronavirus Center Hotline is open 24/7 and can be reached at 1-800-222-1222 or at www.nj.gov/health. The CDC’s website is www.cdc.gov.
