Coronavirus Update #41

Dear Resident,

Testing and Stats – New Jersey reported 1,612 new daily positive test results for a statewide total of 162,530.  Monmouth County has 8,455 cases with 468 in Marlboro.

Restaurants and Non-Essential Businesses - Governor Murphy has passed Executive Order #150 allowing, effective June 15, bars and restaurants to open with outdoor service following guidelines including capacity and spacing, face coverings when inside the restaurant, and prohibiting smoking.  The EO further permits non-essential retail businesses to open to the public following the same guidelines as applied to essential businesses.

As I stated in my last update, in addition to temporary permits for fitness facilities, we will be issuing temporary permits for outdoor dining for restaurants with an active Marlboro mercantile license that do not currently have approved outdoor dining or wish to expand already approved outdoor dining.

To request an application, please email to . You will be asked to include a sketch of where the dining is to occur on the property.  Show dimensions and locations of all tables, chairs and fixtures.  Seating may only be located on private property and not in the public right of way under this application.

Under the COVID-19 Expansion permit, restaurants with liquor licenses may make an application to expand the areas where they may serve or sell liquor. The process begins with an application through POSSE and following their review, will be transmitted to the Municipal Clerk and Police Chief. The ABC permit fee is $75 and will be effective until November 30, 2020.  For more please review the ABC ruling HERE.

We are committed to helping our businesses recover and want to ensure it is done in a manner that is safe and responsible manner, and to encourage appropriate social distancing requirements in accordance with guidance promulgated by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), State of New Jersey and Monmouth County Health Departments, and in conformance with State and Local Executive Orders. Restaurants should review the NJ Department of Health protocols for food and beverage establishments HERE.

For all businesses, the CDC Resuming Business Toolkit is designed to assist employers in slowing the spread of COVID-19 and lowering the impact in their workplace.

Bulk pickup is under way by zone (letter HERE). Brush and leaf curbside collection is complete until fall as we begin our summer road program. No lawn debris may be curbside.  Beginning Monday, construction crews will be performing concrete curbing restoration on Nolan Road between Lloyd Road and Ramsgate Drive from Monday through Friday of next week from 7am-5pm.  The road will be open and Police Officers will be on site to assist with traffic.  Please use caution through the work zone.

As we head towards the weekend, we have updated the online list of restaurants that offer curbside pickup and delivery and grocery stores. Please continue to support our restaurants. We are grateful to the grocery stores that have been there for us every step of the way. Hours and services may change.  Please call before you visit.
